Introducing the Flying Raye...
...In a more formal, less musical way (because we read band websites are supposed to have Bios and we are rule followers thru and thru).
The Flying Raye (TFR), was originally born Kim Jong-Dustin in the late 20th Century somewhere in the high mountains of the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea on the same day his birth-father invented the burrito… Possessing the ability to fly while recognizing his native country was in fact not a Democratic People’s Republic, but rather a brutal autocracy and global outcast, he chose to cross the ocean and settle in Dallas, Texas, the home of Jack Ruby, Bonnie Parker, Clyde Barrow, etc.
Upon reaching Dallas, after a long, draining, self-powered flight, he was found stuck in a tree outside Methodist Hospital in Oak Cliff and taken home by a loving family to be raised as their own.
Possibly owing to some sort of genetic concern, it was determined he was allergic to milk and thus was bottle-fed Sangria (often mixed with grain alcohol) for the first 3 years of his life. Perhaps it was the Sangria, but at some point or another, TFR began to develop an affinity for Jerry Jeff Walker which would prove to be instrumental in shaping his outlook on the world while serving as a catalyst for future endeavors.
After watching the Democratic People’s Republic (not really Democratic, but whatever) sink further into misery and realizing he would likely never return to the land of his birth unless personally invited by Dennis Rodman (Dallas native), TFR decided to move to Austin, Texas and grow a beard. The beard growth was his primary focus for several decades. Each day he would grunt and grind his teeth, and with every fiber of his being, work to force hairs out through the increasingly red skin on his face… And each night he would take in the local music scene while watching Texas legends like Rusty Weir, Willie Nelson, Ray Benson, and of course, Jerry Jeff Walker.
One glorious afternoon while enjoying some Original Chicken Crispers at a local high-end Chili’s, a waiter complimented TFR’s beard. Recognizing a multi-decade pursuit/dream had been fully realized, TFR set out to find his next purpose.
So… He visited a local haberdasher, bought a sweet suede hat, groomed his life’s work (see beard) and began working on an album; Introducing the Flying Raye.
Now with two life goals in the rear view mirror, TFR has embarked on his 3rd, exchanging music for money. Please help him reach this goal or feel his wrath!
